Buying a building that contains asbestos is always a risk. But many older buildings built between the mid-1940's and the mid-1980's contain asbestos, as it was a popular roofing and flooring insulation material. Having asbestos on your property doesn’t always pose a risk, but in such cases it’s important to have it inspected so you can be certain you’re safe.
Asbestos is a highly dangerous toxin that must always be handled with care, as inhaling asbestos particles can cause mesothelioma, or other serious diseases. Many older buildings and homes contain asbestos, and it’s important to contact licensed professionals for the safe removal of asbestos. While the compound is very dangerous, it is possible to recycle asbestos through specialized treatment.
Asbestos insulation is commonly found in older buildings and homes that were built anywhere between the 1940's and the 1970's in the United States. One of the main reasons that asbestos was such a popular building material was due to its thermal qualities, while also being highly resistant to fire. Asbestos was also very affordable, and building contractors used it in a wide variety of ways, such as for walls, ceilings, fencing, and flooring. However, asbestos is highly toxic whenever it is damaged by fire, and it is important to contact asbestos removal companies in San Diego if you believe that your home or building has asbestos insulation. Here is what you need to know about the difference between friable and non-friable asbestos.
Asbestos exposure is a common problem and the number of cases of cancer caused by asbestos is still on the rise, despite an official ban from the Federal Government many years ago. If your home or commercial building was built before (or even after) the 1980's, there is a good chance that it contains asbestos material, which may require the services of companies specializing in asbestos abatement in San Diego.
Asbestos was a commonly used building and insulation material until it was proven to be extremely hazardous to the health of both construction workers, employees, and residents. Even minimal exposure can lead to chronic health problems such as upper respiratory diseases, mesothelioma, and other types of cancers. CVE Corp., an asbestos removal company in San Diego, can discover hidden pockets of asbestos and remove them from homes and buildings, improving air quality and safety.
Homes and businesses built before the 1970's can often contain asbestos-based materials. Many people who start renovations on their own are unaware of what asbestos looks like or what materials are made using it. This can result in exposure to high levels of asbestos that can cause a variety of chronic health conditions. Instead of trying to get rid of the asbestos yourself, you can rely on our CVE Corp. professionals who specialize in asbestos abatement in San Diego.

Our Fresno Team recently worked on the El Capitan Hotel in Merced, California. This was an enormous 4 story hotel that required asbestos abatement before we gutted it. This classic hotel is getting a major remodel into a boutique hotel that will be a great sign of change for downtown Merced. CVE Demolition was happy to be on site working with other teams to kick off this project.
